photograhy project, lebanon, france 2022
Belonging is a personal photographic project born at a time of rupture, when I was torn away from my hometown, Beirut, and found myself living in Amiens. Between feelings of exile, disorientation, and longing, photography became a way to cope, a way to see, to feel, and to reconnect.
Through the lens, I began to observe both cities not just as places, but as mirrors of myself. In photographing Beirut and Amiens, I was, in a sense, creating an autoportrait composed of urban fragments, light, absence, and memory. These portraits of cities became reflections of the two lives I inhabit, capturing the tension and the quiet beauty of belonging to more than one place, yet fully to none. This project traces those emotional and visual parallels, a search for home in the in-between.
